TAPOUT 25 (TRACES) - Reservoir - SOLO DEGREE SHOW
STUDIO 3 - GOLDSMITHS UNIVERSITY OF LONDON
RESERVOIR is an Audio/Visual Live Art Performance fuelled by a soundscape and facts that experiments and explores water and ink; their forms, memory, and relation to self.
I invited the audience to sit with me and watch as I created my mark-making process, while listening to the audio soundscape I had composed; I ended my piece by handing over my performance space to my audience, inviting them to join in and create their own marks. The paper I used was suspended, and for each performance I pulled more, allowing each performance to be influenced by the past showings, creating a feeling of continuous process.
My Soundscape (Created in QLab) included studies from Freud’s Iceberg Theory, Dr Masaru on how emotion influences water properties, Jibril Abdulmalik’s poem ‘I am Like Water’, National Geographic understandings and pieces of my own writing underscored by water droplets and river sounds alongside Giovanni Venustas ‘Woman in Late’, “And A Sky Colored Grey’ by Vincent Gallo and ‘Everything Turnes Black to Blue’ by Slow Attack Ensemble. I also used a contact microphone to capture sounds created during the process of performance.
I also created the Website, Poster and Badges for my Degree Festival TAPOUT 25
* The poster background is a STRAVA heatmap (traces of runners) of London
